The Women's Resource Center has over 100 volunteers that help us in a varitety ways:
Information & Referral
Phone volunteers answer the helpline for one 3-hour shift each week.
Administrative Volunteers
This flexible position is available to those who want to give time but cannot commit to coming in on the same day every week. Projects include data entry, mailing preparation, filing, phone scheduling, and general office duties.
Public Relations Volunteers Community relations and image building are important to the success of Center programs. Help is needed with displays at community fairs, writing press releases and spot announcements, submitting information to community calendars, distributing brochures and newsletters, and speaking on the Center’s behalf.
Program Volunteers
These positions serve as greeters and assistants for various programs in the evening. Volunteers open and close the Center, greet program participants, take registrations, prepare for the facilitator, assist with room set-up, and answer questions. Volunteers are needed for workshops, support groups, the Single Mothers’ Program, Legal Night and Career Programs
Special Event Volunteers Throughout the year the board and staff participate in a variety of events to raise funds to support the Center programs. Volunteers assist with fund raising events and special events for members and volunteers.
Committee & Board Volunteers
The Board of Directors has working committees who plan and develop policy for the Center. Volunteers are needed for the following committees: Finance, Marketing, Program, Board Development, Human Resource, and Fund Development.
Each volunteer has gone through hours of training, observation and is required to complete six hours of continuing education per year. We are always interested in welcoming new volunteers to the center.
